This was the east end of the former church, simply decorated with flowers from ‘The Florist’ and a few sea-related artifacts. The afternoon was hot and sunny and the church was full. We sang some rousing hymns, accompanied as ever by our fine organist, Anne Thomas. Some of us read from the Bible and recited poems about the sea and I spoke about the diversity of the inhabitants and aspects of the sea and drew a parallel with the many and diverse gifts and talents we have to offer to God for his use. And then we concluded the afternoon by chatting over drinks. Please note that the next service – St Lawrence’s Day – will be on 11th August. Do please swell our numbers if you can!
